As steam leaves the boiler room and travels through pipes into the factory, it cools and condensate is generated. Condensate (liquid) further cools the steam producing more condensate and eventually rendering the steam useless i.e. too cold.
Steam traps are designed to remove condensate from the pipeline by separating it and venting it.
The common types are thermostatic and float.
Thermostatic types include a mechanism which uses a bi-metallic strip to open the vent based on pressure.
Float types fill with condensate until a float rises and vents the condensate.
Both types need to be sized properly for the application and we have extensive experience in this.
